Fall 2025
Dear Friends,
As the cooler, shorter days of fall begin to settle in, we’re reminded that seasons of change bring new opportunities for growth, reflection, and action. Today, on the final day of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, this message feels especially meaningful. We’ve made strides in raising awareness and supporting mental health, but there’s still so much more to do.
This past weekend was a powerful reminder of the strength of our community. At the NAMIWalks event in Jacksonville, it was inspiring to see so many of you stand united for mental health advocacy. Child Guidance Center was proud to participate as a sponsor of the event, connect with you at our Wellness Fair booth, and walk alongside others devoted to NAMI Jacksonville’s mission: education, advocacy, and Mental Health for All.
Your presence and support fuel our drive to continue this critical work. Today, I want to share two immediate ways you can join us in making an even greater impact:
Are you a mental health professional? Join us for our upcoming Suicide Prevention Symposium. This event offers an opportunity for education and conversation, equipping mental health professionals with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful difference. Find details and register here.
Help us create a safe, healing space for families. Our main office’s ductwork needs urgent replacement—it’s outdated, improperly sized, and straining our new AC units, leading to discomfort for staff and clients. We’ve launched a GoFundMe to raise $51,800 for this essential renovation. With your support, we can ensure every child and family who walks through our doors feels welcomed and cared for. Learn more and donate here.
Your support makes all the difference. Thank you for being part of this important work.
Respectfully,
Theresa Thweatt Rulien, Ph.D. President & CEO
